Green Apple Sangria

I have a confession. I am one of those ridiculous folks that live out West that is experiencing a heatwave as the rest of the country is having snow. SORRY. But with heat, comes the strong desire for a cold refreshing beverage, and well, it's happening.

I pulled together this drink knowing that not only was it refreshing, but that I wanted a fun light drink to serve for St. Patrick's Day as well. Knowing my love of the vino, I decided a Green Apple Sangria would be perfect.

Other Sangria Questions

Green Apple Sangria co*cktail Recipe (9)

Now that you are ready to make this delicious sangria, here are a few questions you might have.

What white wine is best for sangria?

It all depends on preference, but I have found that dryer white wine works best with balancing the sweetness of the fruit from sangria. So a Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, or Chardonnay (as a more sweet version). Of course, a bubbly Moscato, Prosecco, or Rosé are also really nice in sangria too.

What fruit is best in sangria?

That is the beauty of sangria, almost all fruit goes well in sangria. Traditionally, apples go wonderfully in sangria, as well as oranges for a more citrus twist. Depending on whether you are going with red wine or white wine, there are fruits that pair well with each other.

Can I add fruit to bottled sangria?

Adding leftover fruit is always a great idea for sangria. You can add fresh or frozen fruit including apples, oranges, berries, grapes, or pineapple. I love extra fruit in my sangria.

How long should you soak fruit for sangria?

I always recommend soaking fruit overnight to have all the juices combined.
