How to Cook Balsamic Chicken for Two in a Crock Pot

It may seem like this Balsamic Crock Pot Chicken for Two recipe may seem like it has a lot of ingredients, but it really is a simple recipe. There is just a little bit of this and a little bit of that in the sauce. I know that when I started cooking, an ingredients list that was more than three or four ingredients long had me scared. I’m here to tell you that you can do it. Just gather your ingredients, read through the whole recipe once (or twice if it makes you feel better 😉 ) and then start. This is a great recipe for someone new to cooking and for anyone who has been cooking for years.
What You Will Need for Balsamic Crock Pot Chicken for Two
Ingredients Needed
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken thighs, trimmed
- 1/2 tablespoon bacon fat
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic, minced
- 2 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon dried minced onion
- 4 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
Equipment Needed
- Sharp knife
- Cutting board
- Medium skillet
- Flipping spatula or tongs
- Small bowl
- Garlic press
- Measuring spoons
- Measuring cup
- Stirring spatula
- 2.5 quart crock pot to 4 quart crock pot
Time Needed
- Prep Time: 10 minutes
- Cooking Time: approximately 2 hours on low or 1 hour on high, if your slow cooker does not cook evenly, you can either turn your insert or flip your chicken put each thigh on the opposite side of the insert halfway through the cooking time

Ingredients
- 1/2 Tablespoon Bacon Fat or other oil
- 2 boneless skinless chicken thighs trimmed
- Salt and Pepper to Taste
- 1/2 teaspoon Minced Garlic
- 1/2 teaspoon Minced Dry Onion
- 2 1/2 teaspoons of Sugar or Sugar Substitute
- 4 tablespoons Balsamic Vinegar
- 1/2 Cup chicken broth
Instructions
Salt and pepper your chicken and brown on each side in the bacon fat in a skillet on the stove before transferring to your 2.5 quart or 4 quart slow cooker.
In a bowl, mix together garlic, onion, sugar, vinegar and broth.
Pour mixture over your chicken.
Cover and cook on low for approximately 2 hours or high for approximately 1 hour. (If your slow cooker does not cook evenly, you can either turn your insert or flip your chicken put each thigh on the opposite side of the insert halfway through the cooking time.)
Serve chicken with cooking juices.
